Out of the two, the Sport model is comparatively bigger and better in many ways than the LG Watch Style. One of the main reasons to go for the sport model is that it has LTE. The LG Watch Sport is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor which promises lightning fast speeds and smoothness. It also has a GPS built right into it for tracking all your fitness data, etc.

One of the new addition to this LG Watch Sport is the Google Assistant. It is the new virtual assistant that Google announced a couple of months back and now it is built right into the watch. This feature takes advantage of the voice assistance feature and it can answer your queries on the go. All you have to say is, ‘Ok Google’ and your assistant will pop up answering the queries you throw at it.

EyeQue is a persona vision tracker which works in unison with your smartphone and does what it is claims to do. It is a very convenient way to check your vision and keep track of the same over time. This is extremely convenient to have something like this with you at home that works flawlessly with your smartphone. It saves a lot of time and effort to go out and get an appointment for the same and get it done outside.

Working with the EyeQue is also very simple and efficient. All you have to do is get the vision assessment done and after a few rounds of measurements, you will get a set of ‘Eyeglass numbers’ just as you would if you go to an ophthalmologist. And then rest is easy. You can take the eyeglass numbers to any store near you or maybe get a pair of glasses online as well. You can also take the readings to your personal eye care specialist if you need to double check and keep track of the same as well. This helps a lot since you can take the readings whenever and wherever you want and maintain a track record of the same to compare over time. Motiv Ring https://mastergadgets.com/blog/motiv-ring/ https://mastergadgets.com/blog/motiv-ring/#respond Tue, 03 Jan 2017 17:09:36 +0000 http://gizmoreport.com/?p=2417 We all have known fitness trackers mostly as a piece of tech coupled with a wristband that people wear right? Well, what if you get to know that there is a new player in the market now which can change the way you use fitness trackers. Yes, meet Motiv Ring. It is a ring which you can wear on your finger that has all the same tech which you can find inside a full-fledged fitness tracker. At first, it is truly unbelievable to know that they can cram a fitness tracker into such a form factor, but once you get to know more about it, you will not be able to stop yourself from buying one.

To begin with, the Motiv Ring is a $200 ring which you can put on just like any other traditional ring. It is a waterproof, Bluetooth titanium activity-tracking ring with a built-in accelerometer. It also has a LED light and a heart rate sensor to measure your heart rate throughout the various activities you do. So basically what you are looking at here is a complete fitness tracker in such a small form factor. But how different is it and why would you want to replace your traditional fitness bands with this ring? Well, to begin with, it is totally unobtrusive, meaning you can do anything you want wearing it and you won’t even feel uncomfortable.

It also has an app which will allow you to see all your data like your fitness data, sleep data, etc. The company claims that you can wear without charging for five days, which is pretty good for such a form factor. Do make a note that it doesn’t have a display to show your notifications, etc. so if you are looking for something along those lines, then it is not for you. However, on the other hand, if all you want is a device that will track all your fitness data on a timely basis and won’t come in your daily life, then this is the device for you.

The Misfit Vapor features a 1.39” full round AMOLED display that has a vibrant color palette in 326 pixels per inch. In terms of sensors and internals, it has an accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor, GPS, and microphone. Moov Now https://mastergadgets.com/blog/moov-now/ https://mastergadgets.com/blog/moov-now/#respond Sat, 31 Dec 2016 11:00:38 +0000 http://gizmoreport.com/?p=2392 Activity trackers/ fitness bands that are available in the market are all quite similar. There is not a lot of difference in these products when it comes to functions, etc. But there are a few products in the market that are unique and offers some different set of features. And Moov Now is one such product. This is n activity band which is unlike anything that you might have seen in the past. This 2nd generation Moov Tracker offers activity tracking in 3D and real-time audio feedback to improve your performance. And all this is priced at just about $79 which roughly translates to about 5,400 INR. Talking about the band, it is elastic and breathable which is a great touch considering the other ones in the market right now. The tracker just goes inside the band which you then you wear to track everything.

One thing that you need to know about this tracker is that it has no display so that it won’t show time, notifications or anything and it doesn’t even have an alarm, etc. so if you have a lot of expectations out of this, then you will be disappointed. This band does have an all day tracking capability, but it really shines with the recorded workout sessions. On the main page of the app, the Moov now focuses on active minute which then you can tap further to see more details for. It also automatically tells you when you sleep, and it is quite accurate with that as well. The app also shows the various activities that it can track. The basic ones are running and walking, and it is really helpful for beginners. Even professional runners can take a lot of advantage out of it. The coach will keep talking to you and tell your progress. And pretty much all the activities has its own metrics to track, and it does them very well.

At home coaching also offers a lot of variety and the exercise is shown in the app. You can see the movement being tracked in realtime and it gives you confidence on what you are trying to achieve. One of the best features which you might like is the cardio boxing. Do make a note that this activity will require two Moov Now tracker i.e. one for each hand and the exercise kind of works like guitar hero game You jab, cross, hook and give uppercut while switching states periodically hitting the air whenever the target crosses the line. The tracker does measure the speed of each punch, the amount of G-Force you put in, and it uses all that info to accurately show you the overall progress. Overall, this is pretty much as good as a tracker can get in terms of tracking your activities. Maybe the couch is not the best one out there in the market, but you will get used to it.

Philips Health Smart Watch https://mastergadgets.com/blog/philips-health-smart-watch/ https://mastergadgets.com/blog/philips-health-smart-watch/#respond Fri, 09 Dec 2016 11:35:58 +0000 http://gizmoreport.com/?p=2343 Fitness trackers are becoming more and more mainstream as every other manufacturer wants to make one. But when you talk about Health Smart Watch which solves the purpose of both monitoring your activity as well as a functioning as a smart watch, the options are kind of limited. Yes, most of the smart watches have the ability to track your activity, but they are not meant for that purpose primarily. And now talking about that, we now have a new player here from Philips called the Health Smart Watch. The Health Smart Watch looks more like a smartwatch, but its main purpose is to track your fitness. It makes you healthier by tracking your heart rate and other indicators of the heart condition as well as activities such as sleep and more.

The Philips Health Smart Watch is capable of automatically detecting activities such as walking, running, cycling and sleep. It has an always on display which shows useful and relevant information and has a battery life of 4 days. The measurement methods and algorithms which are used here by Philips Health Smart Watch are clinically validated. Also based on your activity levels and other info, they also offer Health guidance services. It has a heart rate sensor at the back, and it constantly monitors your heart rate and a heart condition. And all this data is securely stored on the Philips Heath Cloud platform, and the watch is synced to the Philips Health App which is compatible with both iOS & Android. Overall, it is a great fitness tracker which also doubles as a smartwatch, and it looks pretty decent and maintains a low profile.

Garmin Vivofit https://mastergadgets.com/blog/garmin-vivofit/ https://mastergadgets.com/blog/garmin-vivofit/#respond Tue, 06 Dec 2016 13:03:17 +0000 http://gizmoreport.com/?p=2239 Garmin has been making fitness monitors for athletes and bikers for a while now. But this is Garmin’s first attempt at an activity band. The Garmin Vivofit comes in two options. The one with HR sensor and the other one without the HR sensor. The one with the HR sensor is priced at $170 and the one without the HR sensor is priced at $130. It has a very simple and light weight design. The band itself is a silicone rubberlike material, and that is actually separate from the activity tracker. The screen uses the same technology as that of the one which is used in your digital clocks. It shows your steps were taken, remaining steps to reaching your goal, distance traveled, calories burned, time and date and heart rate. The red band on top is the moving bar. The first bar is always the one when you are inactive. Additional bars will start to appear every 15 mins. The band does a good job of distinguishing just moving your hand around or lets say typing or driving your car, versus an actual movement like walking. It is a great reminder to stand up and take a walk once in a while. The display works perfectly fine in abundant lighting, but in dark rooms, it is quite difficult to see. It does not have any fancy displays, and because of that, you don’t have to recharge the batteries now and then. In fact, it will last you for a year before needing to charge. You can swap bands for different colors, and none of them are bulky.

The Garmin Vivofit is comparatively better than some of the bands out there and is comfortable to wear as well. You can wear this in the shower as it is water resistant upto 50 meters. And one thing which i like the most is that there are no ports for charging or syncing. Everything is done wirelessly. The band works with both Apple and Android powered devices. If incase you forget to sync, the don’t worry since it records all the info for upto three weeks. So far the band is quite easy to use. What is more important are the features? Now going on to the app here, the main page shows the distance covered, steps taken, etc. It provides something called as an auto goal based on your previous activity levels. The app will show you how active you were throughout the day or the info for an entire week or so. Now when you are wearing the HR sensor variant, once your heart rate spikes it will automatically trigger an activity. Do make a note that this feature will not be available in the one without the HR sensor variant. It will show you the time, distance, speed, and calories, etc. for that activity. So this works general and overall fitness of your body. But i believe the band is ideal for runners and joggers specifically.

The Garmin Vivofit doesn’t have the GPS capabilities within the band itself. Hence although the app says the particular activity doesn’t have a map data, its because this app is used on other products as well where the map would be utilized, unlike this one. The next section to focus is the sleep monitoring. Before you go to sleep, hold the button on the band to trigger the sleep mode. When you wake up, press and hold it again, and after doing so, the app will show the graph. I wasn’t too impressed with this though as it doesn’t show all the data as the light sleep vs. the deep sleep etc. And lastly on the main page are your badges. There is also a community tab which is where you can add friends. By doing so, you can view the leaderboard to compete with others and gain more. And there is also a devices tab which will show all the devices you have synced and also there is setting menu at the bottom from where you can change anything and everything. Overall, when you are first introduced to the tivo fit, it won’t be much impressive since there isn’t much at the start. But over time, you will start seeing real benefits based on the info on the app, especially for runners. All the main components are there to make it a worthy purchase. And it is worth getting it with the heart rate bundle.

Fitbit Flex 2 https://mastergadgets.com/blog/fitbit-flex-2/ https://mastergadgets.com/blog/fitbit-flex-2/#respond Fri, 02 Dec 2016 04:58:13 +0000 http://gizmoreport.com/?p=2153 The Fitbit Flex 2 fitness tracker is $99 Fitness tracker for the workout novice. Yes, that’s the right way to put it. Reason being, it gains few features but loses more than what it does. But keeping that aside and talking about this device itself, it blends easily unlike the blaze. But then again as mentioned, it looses a couple of features like the heart rate monitor. But just like other Fitbit devices, it will automatically track your steps and calories burned in a day, and it also comes in several colors. The Flex 2 is an upgrade indeed from the original Flex band, and it is perfect for those who just wants to keep track of their steps and maintain a healthier habit. In other words, who in need for motivation to get up and go or who need a break away from sedentary lifestyle is the target consumer for this gadget. The Flex 2 also track sleep and comes with upto five days of battery life. So yes, you don’t have to plug it in every night. A nice bonus is that it is also water resistant upto 164 feet. That means you can take it to the shower or go swimming with it as well. And the best part is, it will automatically track your laps in the pool, your duration and your calories burnt while swimming.

Alternatively, you can also program the Fitbit Flex 2 to track certain exercises you do on a regular basis using the app. It can be a little bit confusing though if you want to customize your activity. But you basically select your weekly exercises in the app, click on one of the exercises completed and then select categorize exercise. You can then type in the type of exercise and then post this, Fitbit will bring the stats for that exercise automatically. Fitbit flex 2 is a simple device to blend in. The little sensor is kept in a band which comes in a variety of different colors. You will see five little lights on top of the band and you will know that your flex 2 charged when all lights are lit up. The lights will drop as you lose battery it will also send you an email when your battery is about to die. However, one really cool feature about the Flex 2 is that you can take the flex 2 for a workout without the phone and it will still track all the data and sync it later. You simply sync it up to your smartphone and b sure to wear it on your nondominant hand for best accuracy. This seems to work in most cases, and hence you might want to do this for better accuracy.

Overall, this device is simply perfect for those who wants to move more. The little notification buzz which you will get every hour reminding you to move is something that you will like. It will help keep you going and also help to keep metabolism up during the day. The ability to log how much foo you have eaten and to log the calories is a plus as well. It is basically a simple gadget for those who don’t want a lot of fuss. And on top of everything, at hundred dollars, it is a pretty sweet device compared to other fitness trackers. Yes now you may think on why even to spend it while you can simply use your phone, but really the extra calorie count and everything really keeps you going and it is definitely a worthy purchase for the price. But if you want something more than this then you can also go for Fitbit Blaze.
