What is a water purifier?

A water purifier is a device that can be used to clean and purify the water that we drink. It has an inbuilt mechanism that filters out contaminants like bacteria, fungi, minerals, etc from the contaminated water so as to ensure its safety for consumption by humans or animals. Water purifiers come with different features – some may have a built-in hot water dispenser while others might not; there are those which consume less power (electrical) than others and vice versa. Hence it becomes important for you to know about your specific requirements before choosing one such appliance at home.

Why should you buy a water purifier?

Water purifiers are a must-have in your home because they help you to ensure that water is safe to drink. The contaminants like bacteria, fungi, and minerals that might be present in the water can cause diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, or even typhoid which may prove fatal if left untreated. Hence it becomes important for people who live near areas where there is a risk of contamination from chemicals or due to lack of sufficient groundwater resources (like drought conditions) to buy one for their homes so as to always have access to clean drinking water at all times – especially during emergencies when public sources become inaccessible.

How much water should I drink a day?

The official recommendation for water consumption in India is about six to eight glasses a day. But as per the World Health Organization (WHO), it should be five liters which equals about two-and-a-half liters of fluid every day. You can drink more or less, depending on your need and activity levels. The average Indian drinks between three and four cups of liquid each day – this includes tea, coffee, fruit juices, sodas, etc., but excludes things we consume that contain either no or minimal amounts of fluid like alcohol, milk products, or soups with lots of sauce.

When should I replace my filter cartridge?

The life span of a filter cartridge depends on how much water you use and also your environment, so it is difficult to give an average number for when one should be replaced. However, if there are physical defects in the filters (e.g., scratches) they need replacing more frequently than those that look fine but have depreciated capacity due to usage over time – this will depend on individual circumstances and levels of contaminants in the local water supply.

A good rule of thumb would be every six months for normal usage with moderate contamination at home, up to 12 months with low contamination from public sources where you buy your own filter cartridges, or up to 18 months in areas with low contamination from the public water supply.

It is also worth noting that filter cartridges will still remove even small amounts of contaminants after they have been expired so it is not necessary to wait until you replace your cartridge before replacing or filling up again – this can depend on the quality and level of contaminants, as well as personal taste preferences for different levels of purity.

What are the different types of water purifiers available?

There are several different types of water purifiers available, and it is important to know what type you need in order to find the best one for your budget.

Reverse Osmosis filtration (RO) – RO water purification systems help remove toxins from tap water by pushing polluted particles through a membrane with microscopic pores that trap them while allowing clean H20 molecules to seep through. This process removes up to 98% of contaminants which makes RO filters perfect for those who suffer from allergies or stomach problems due to their drinking habits.

Activated Carbon filtration (AC) – AC filters are best for those who want to purify water at a quick pace: they remove contaminants such as metals, chlorine, and pesticides from the tap water by taking them out of it completely.

Distillation – This is a simple process that removes the harmful minerals from your water by vaporizing it and cooling off to form clean and fresh drinking water; distilleries are not recommended for continual use because they can be expensive in terms of power consumption.

Light activated water treatment systems (LAWTS) – LAWTS are easy to install and work great when there’s no access to electricity because this system treats contaminated minerals as well as organic matter such as fungi, pesticides, etc., without using any chemicals or power sources; preventing them from getting into your drinking water.

Carbon-based filters – These types of purifiers work on a physical principle where carbon blocks chemicals such as chlorine which causes odors and tastes while also reducing organic matter like algae etc.; this type doesn’t remove heavy metals though so you’ll need an additional system if there’s no access to electricity or when treating large quantities of contaminated water.
