Form Labs From 1 Plus was a great 3D printer which was available about a year ago, and now we have the updated version which is form 2. Now this one is stereolithography 3D Printer and what that means is, that i has a 3D platform on top here that got down to resin tank that pulls up a 3D object. Now that is a very long process. A small object can take as long as 20 hours to complete. But it is indeed worth the wait because this printer can make very very high quality objects. The resin is very sticky, and that means the resultant objects needs to be cleaned with Alcohol before you can use them. However, the good news is that the printer comes with this finishing kit and anyway most people wouldn’t have any issues with alcohol at all. Also another good thing about this printer is that this printer can print huge objects as well. Even the small objects with high details can also be printed. So basically, any object of the size 5.7 x 5.7 x 6.9 inches can be printed n matter how detailed the object is. But do make a note that, the larger the object is, the longer will it take to print it.
The 3D platform is removable, and even the resin tank is also removable indeed. The resin cartridge is also very easy to replace, and this means you can switch materials anytime without having to worry about anything at all. But one thing you need to know is that only one platform, one resin tank, and one resin cartridge is included with the kit. The printer is very easy to use. The only hardest part is to make it level. It has four adjustable feet, but it is kind of tricky to make it level and stable at the same time. But if you are not clumsy, it won’t take you much time to get this thing up and running. However, if you do have experience in this, you won’t take more than 5 minutes. There is a touchscreen on the front which is really helpful. The printer can be used with either USB or network, i.e., both wired and wireless. But wait, before you get excited, there is one huge drawback. And well, that is the price. This 3D Printer itself costs about $3500 and not just that, but any extra cartridge will set you back another $150 to $300 depending on the color or the type of material
Obviously it is much cheaper to buy the objects ready made at the stores locally, but if you have something very unique to make, this is the one to get. But do make note, that is the only reason why you should get this. Well, to put it in other words, for an average person, this is definitely an overkill in every possible way.
