Personal weather stations are not all that popular everywhere. These are available widely in the market though waiting for people to pick them up. The reason for the low exposure in the market mainly could be the fact that these are not of an absolute necessity just yet. And talking them, one of them which is fairly popular is the Netatmo Urban Weather Station. First of all, this is a two-part device in which you are going to get an indoor and a smaller outdoor module. Both of them are going to keep track of the environment by taking a look at the temperature, monitoring the humidity and they are also going to keep an eye on stuff like CO2 levels and sound, etc. And pretty much all that information is going to get into the Netatmo app which is available for Android and iOS device as well as it goes to your account which you can access using the website.
The indoor module connects via the microUSB, and the outdoor module connects via the AAA batteries that are included with them. But do make a note that you have to unscrew the module and put the batteries in it. That said, it performs really well. It is very accurate and responsive. The app is also very clean and fun to play with especially on a tablet like iPad Pro, etc. where you get more screen real estate to play around with. All in all, it is really easy to use, and it has got a lot of functionalities packed into it. Another cool integration is the IFTTT channels. You can use the data to trigger a lot of IFTTT recipes. That said, it is not the only product that offers that level of environmental capabilities. However, for the price, it is indeed quite justified.
The integration of the dedicated weather app within the iOS is also a nice touch. It allows you to monitor everything within the app. But if you are the type of person who is not really into the whole details about the weather around you, don’t care about the CO2 levels, etc. this product is not really going to generate that sort interest within you. However, if you do have an interest in weather or maybe you work at someplace or own a business where you need to keep tabs on the weather, then the Netatmo could work really well. It is easy to use a product that will work really well and will give an accurate reading.
